Do not love. I understand the considerations of different audience for pb, and a series 'look' with pb, and so on. I think the slightly more badass-looking girl image is pretty cool - although it seems to convey she is much better equipped than her threadbare existence in the novel suggests. I also think the treatment of the series title is quite dynamic. But these covers convey less to me than the hc one. Or rather, they convey something extremely specific - especially the boy-torso - rather than telling something of a story like the hc one does. The hc implies a journey. (I also think the new promo line is kind of lame, but I suppose if someone has said that you're pretty much bound to use it!)

I like the original too - there's a better sense of setting and journey, as you mentioned.
